Outdoor Art Shows
When packing my car for an outdoor art show, I have a list of items that I follow. The list is important, because otherwise, the packing process could get confused and I could leave out items. I make a mark everytime I pack something in the car.
Here are my items: Invoices, file folders, printed artworks list, artworks, folding chair, folding table, table covering, glass cleaner, papertowels, pliers, scissors, repair items, cash, change, bug spray, soft drinks, food, cups, sunscreen, umbrella, tissue, lysol spray, camera, radio, CD player, maps, photos of art, business license, allergy pills,
boxes for artwork, plastic bags, flashlight, alarm clock, clothes, shoes, tent. All these items go in a Nissan Sentra!
Really.
Some specific explanations: The public is leery of carrying around artworks, so the boxes (old shirt boxes) make them feel more comfortable about buying. Also, the plastic bags are important because of rain and/or wind problems. I have been entering outdoor art shows for about nine years now, and I have been successful. We always had Plastic boxes. Anything that was only used at the markets stayed in its box. Sometimes we duplicated items so that we didn't have to break into market boxes. Everything had its place when loading  .
